Four reasons to choose safari tents rather than mobile homes

Should you opt for safari tents or mobile homes on your site? It’s a dilemma faced by many campsite owners, but increasingly, they are turning to glamping as a way to attract more guests. We think it’s the right decision. Here are four reasons why.

1. Glamping is more popular than ever
Glamping is one of the hottest trends in the travel industry. More and more people are trying luxurious camping and enjoying the comforts of home, away from home. They often tell us “this is how we want to camp!” but you don’t have to just take our word for it, research by Glamping Business, shows that glamping makes good business sense.

2. Create a welcoming and attractive site
First impressions count and as a campsite owner you want your site to look as good as possible – it can make the difference between a guest choosing to stay with you, or going elsewhere. Safari tents and lodges are sophisticated and stylish and are more attractive than old mobile homes or empty pitches.

Higher return on investment (ROI)
You can buy a basic safari tent for a relatively low price, starting from around 7,000 euros. And, as demand for glamping holidays is high, you will soon see a return on your investment. Guests are also willing to pay more for luxurious camping than for a basic camping pitch or for a mobile home. Add in some extras to make the experience really special, such as a fire pit, hot tub, BBQ, and bicycles for guests to borrow and then you can charge more.

4. Holidaymakers are looking for luxury
Glamping has become a global trend and the market is set to be worth US$4.8 billion by 2025, reports Bloomberg, the financial news service. The rising number of travellers seeking to relax by connecting with nature, but in luxury accommodation is driving this growth. According to research by Beslist.nl. 5.4 million Dutch people are interested in more luxurious camping and it’s a similar story in the UK, research from Inspired Camping, reveals. Meanwhile, in the US, Kampgrounds of America (KOA) says in its annual KOA Report that 45% of its campers want to experience glamping this year, more than double the figure in 2018.
